Our Story

Rassense Private Limited, led by Sanjay Kumar, its promoter and CEO, has been funded by a prestigious Indian AIF namely Spark Capital (Spark Equitized Credit Solutions Fund II) to emerge as India's largest domestically owned pure-play food services company. Rassense has been formed by reconstituting CRCL LLP to emerge as the only Indian company with a pan-India footprint across all segments of the food service industry and a revenue of INR 400 cr. with over 3,500 employees on payroll producing 275,000 meals per day

We take great pride in making this announcement as it takes us closer to realizing a vision of building an Indian-owned company for delivering food service solutions across India. Our biggest joy is the fact that 63% of Rassense's Executive Committee are shareholders and 25% of it is represented by women.

Our brand philosophy encapsulates the vision statement “Together is More” driven by the fact that we aspire to bring production communities from the agricultural hinterlands closer to consumption communities across the manufacturing, education, healthcare, and corporate sectors.

Rassense's leadership, a team of cross-industry experts, is the cornerstone of its success as the first Indian food service company with a pan-India presence. Their diverse skills and innovative approach have positioned Rassense at the pinnacle of the industry, blending culinary art with strategic excellence to redefine dining across the nation.

MD and Promoter CEO

Sanjay Kumar

Sanjay Kumar has a rich history with Shell across global roles before transitioning to become the CEO of Altran Technologies, India, part of the Altran Group, then the world’s largest engineering and technology consulting companies, listed in France. Under his leadership, Altran India grew from 260 to over 2600 engineers in just 5 years, emerging as a most profitable entity within the Altran group. Following this success, Sanjay pioneered Elior Group's entry into India, transforming it into the country's premier food services company. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to invest in Gamestacy Private Limited, recognized globally by Google for its innovative gaming solutions. Despite Gamestacy's technological achievements, Sanjay's venture lacked financial success. Undeterred, he moved to his next venture back in the food services business by reconstituting CRCL LLP to Rassense Private Limited, backed with funding from Spark Capital to create India's largest domestically owned food service company.

DRE Reddy

DRE Reddy, Board Mentor at Rassense, has had a commendable career starting out as a professional in L&T and then going to become an entrepreneur by partnering with the founder, Mr. C. Ramachandran, founder of CRCL LLP. Mr. Reddy holds a degree in hotel management and embodies innovation and quality leadership in India's hospitality sector.

Executive Board Member and VP Strategy

Swarna Rajamani

Swarna Rajamani, Director and Executive Board Member at Rassense, has over 19 years of experience in different sectors and in different roles across industries. She started her career with RR Donnelley, Foster Wheeler India Private Limited, and Lornamead before moving to Shell where she spent over eight years in different roles. Swarna joined CRCL in the year 2019 and was instrumental in working with various advisors and stakeholders to create Rassense Private Limited through the amalgamation of two entities. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Madras and has completed an Executive Education Programme in Finance from IIT-Delhi. Additionally, she is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, underscoring her commitment to operational excellence.

Gautam Babbar

Gautam, as the General Manager of Human Resources, plays a pivotal role in enhancing organizational capacity by synchronizing people's objectives with the company's strategic vision. With a background in Catering from IHM Aurangabad, Gautam holds an MBA from IIPM and a PGDBM from IIM-C, showcasing his expertise and qualifications in driving impactful HR strategies

VP Client Solutions

Jayanarayanan Ramachandran

Jayanarayanan Ramachandran, VP of Client Solutions South leverages his 7+ years' expertise in operations and service quality. He was instrumental in successfully establishing the retail outlet model in VIT Vellore which made the management of VIT to give business in their new Chennai campus followed by Amaravathi and AP. Jayan has been actively involved in business since 2012 and has mobilized various key clients including the Central Kitchen at Sriperumbudur and Tada. He is a qualified Catering Professional and holds an MBA from Scotland.

Munisekhar Karanam

Munisekhar Karanam, VP Supply Chain, brings over 15 years of expertise in procurement and operations. His tenure at Sodexo Food Solutions India Private Limited highlights his prowess in complex procurement. Munisekhar has completed his Masters in Public Administration from University of Madras.

Rahul Sharma

As a General Manager Client Solutions, Rahul excels in driving business growth and client solutions with over a decade of experience in business development. Rahul is an MBA in Marketing and has completed his Bachelor’s in Computer Applications.

Ramkumar Rajaram

Ramkumar, currently EVP Operations brings over 25 years of experience in running method oriented operations in Industrial and Corporate Catering. With his extensive experience in managing large-scale operations and growth strategies, Ramkumar ensures that our day-to-day operations are in line with the Company’s vision, core values, and strategies for delivering a promising brand. His previous stints were with Maxx Hospitalities, Vassi Hospitality, UAE, Sodexo and ISS Facility Services. Ramkumar qualified professional in Catering from IHM Chennai.

Rama Devi

Rama Devi, currently the Chief Financial Officer, leverages her 15+ years of finance expertise in automobile manufacturing, specializing in costing & pricing, project finance and FP&A. Her leadership in various finance functions has helped drive various strategic planning, profitability and cost savings in the organisations that she has worked with. Rama is a CA (first attempt). a CS (Inter) and has also completed Executive Programme in Strategic Finance for emerging CFOs from IIM Lucknow.
